I was loading music videos onto my all new black 80gb iPod, and I was watching the music video for Linkin Park's "Somewhere I Belong".

I always loved the video, and kinda wish my bedroom was like that one. I love the Gundam figurines (which Wikipedia lists in the Trivia section of the song's article), and the Chinese symbols on the sliding glass door handles (Water and Fire). And the whole modern look of the room (give me a break, I spent half a year working on interiors and exteriors of houses in 3ds max. I cant stop thinking of architecture and interior designs)

Well, the video opens up to a shot of this painting hanging on a wall above a bed.

The painting (and the rest of the video) is obviously inspired by Salvador Dalí and his paintings The Temptation of Saint Anthony and The Elephants.

Now I really love that painting, actually I like it more then either of Dalí's.

Linkin Park flew in a painter from the Netherlands to paint it, according to the "Making the Video". So my hopes of being able to get a poster replica of it faded away.

So I decided tonight to actually begin working on a replica of that painting :-D . While it will probably come out better if I do it in charcoal and/or pastels, I do not feel like having to clear off a table to work on a traditional piece, Instead I'll do in in Photoshop.

When I finish, I'll have it printed out big, and put it on my apartment bedroom's wall, above my bed.

I very rarely do any traditional artwork, rather it be on paper or painted in Photoshop. The majority of the past year have been 3D and Motion Graphics. So this will be good.

Now, after this, maybe I'll get those Gundams... or maybe not.
